Although Taiwan Island is only 36,000 square kilometers, Taiwan’s indigenousl peoples give this small land a rich and colorful ethnic culture. Indigenous peoples follow the wisdom of their ancestors to create a unique life style in today's society. Their knowledge of the mountains, forests and the sea, their melodious and profound ancient rhymes, and their exquisite craftsmanship are among the most unique cultural assets on Taiwan Island.
Our school has established the Indigenous Student Resource Center (ISRC) to not only enhance support services for Indigenous students, but also to deepen their sense of identification with both the school and their own culture. The ISRC is responsible for providing counseling and guidance for Indigenous students, promoting Indigenous education for all, and advocating for ethnic equality. Through various initiatives such as issue-based discussions and cultural learning activities, the center aims to increase public awareness of Indigenous cultures, foster multicultural exchange, and help students build cultural confidence and sensitivity.
